How it works
Understand what AI is telling your customers
Setup takes minutes. Babel42 then simulates real buyer journeys, asking the questions your customers ask and probing each AI assistant for an answer.

Win rate, not mentions
Being mentioned is not the same as being chosen
Most tools stop at appearance rate: how often your name comes up. That number can rise while your sales fall, because appearing in a list you lose is not a win. Babel42 reports appearance rate too, then shops your category to a decision and records the outcome for every assistant.
How the seven assistants answered
- Recommended you
- Shortlisted, then dropped
- Cited your site
- Picked a rival
Every metric, defined: appearance rate, win rate, share of AI voice and the rest.
Your prompts come from your own search demand. Babel42 imports the real queries your site already ranks for, with monthly search volumes, and your buyers open with the ones you tick.
For long UK gravel days I would look at Kestrel first for comfort, then Rampart if you want lighter. One caveat: independent reviews on frame durability are thin, so if you ride loaded I would shortlist Ironwood too.
The conversation is kept for your plan's retention window, so you can read the sentence that turned a shortlisting into a loss. Kestrel was dropped on that objection by one assistant and warned about by another.
Google AI Overviews and AI Mode
Track the AI answers on Google, not just the assistants
AI Overviews and AI Mode reach far more people than any chat assistant. Babel42 puts the same question to both and records whether you appear and whether your page is cited, alongside every assistant result.
- Appearance rate and citation, tracked per query
- The rival pages Google cited in your place, with URLs
- An honest “no AI Overview was shown” when Google returns none
Google AI Overviews

Google AI Mode

Why this matters: these are the pages AI reads before it answers. Earning coverage or a link on the ones citing a rival is the fastest way to move your score.

More features
Everything else included with AI Visibility
Every Babel42 AI Visibility plan includes these alongside the buyer journeys and the metrics above. The plans differ in how much you can run, not in which of these you get.
Track more than one brand
On the paid plans Babel42 runs several brands from one account, or your brand next to its closest rivals. Each brand gets its own score, drawn from your account's pool of AI Buyers.
Read every conversation in full
Babel42 keeps your AI Buyer journeys for as long as your plan's retention allows and replays each one turn by turn: the questions asked, the answers given and the moment a rival was introduced.
Narrow down to local markets
Selling in one town rather than everywhere? Pin your buyers to a city. Some assistants take that as the buyer's location, and for the rest it goes into the question itself, so you see answers shaped by where your customer is.
See how AI describes you
Babel42 reads your position across the answers as leader, value pick or niche. Position shifts before market share does.
Track changes between runs
Each run is compared against the last: what moved, what is new and what you have already fixed. Mark actions done so the list stays accurate.
Share a report without a seat
Send a client or your board a password-protected, read-only snapshot of your Babel42 results. No extra seat on your plan required.
Pricing
Free on both. Pay when you grow
Buy either product on its own, or take both and save 20%.
The second product
Track every mention of your brand across social, news and reviews
One query watches social networks, video, news, developer forums and review sites, then collects, de-duplicates and tags every match for you. Filter by sentiment, source or author, set alerts for spikes, and see who is driving the conversation.
It is also where AI gets its opinion of you: assistants build their answers from what the web publishes about your brand. Works on its own, or take both and save 20%.
One query, every source that matters
- Bluesky
- X
- YouTube
- Mastodon
- Tumblr
- Twitch
- Hacker News
- DEV.to
- Stack Exchange

Matches are de-duplicated across sources, so one story trending in five places counts once.
Questions, answered
What is AI search visibility?
It is how often, and how favourably, your brand turns up when someone asks an AI assistant for a recommendation instead of typing a query into a search box. It is also called GEO or AEO. Unlike search rankings there is no public results page to check, so the only way to know is to ask the assistants yourself, repeatedly, and record what they say.
Which AI assistants does Babel42 track?
Seven. ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini and Grok act as conversational buyers that shop your category to a decision, and Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode are probed once per question for appearance and citation. How many a single buyer can use at once depends on your plan: two on Free, five on Starter, all seven on Growth and Pro.
How is this different from a prompt tracker?
A prompt tracker fires the same fixed question at a model and counts whether your name appears. Babel42 sends a buyer with intent and objections through a multi-turn conversation, all the way to a choice, with live web search on the assistants that support it. You get the winner, the loser, the objection that decided it and the sources the AI quoted, rather than a mention count.
Where do the questions come from?
From your own search demand. When you add a brand, Babel42 pulls the real Google queries your site is found for along with their monthly volumes, and you tick which ones your buyers should open with. You can add your own at any time, up to 50 per brand.
Do I need Social Listening as well?
No. The two products are sold separately and either works on its own. They are related, because assistants build their answers partly from what people publish about you, so brands that take both see the cause and the effect in one account, at a 20% discount.
What does it cost to try?
Nothing. There is a free tier on both products with no card required, and your first AI Buyer runs within minutes of signing up. Paid plans add more buyers, more assistants per buyer and more frequent runs.
